It seems hard to believe that it's time to get the gardens ready for winter! I worked all afternoon outside getting things cleaned up, pots put away, tools stored and so on. My reward was creating some simple arragements on our back deck that can be enjoyed all season long. The big ole pinecones make it perfect!
In the summer, this picket fence planter held big beautiful white geraniums!
One of my favorite things on the deck is this old post lantern top. I got it at a thrift shop a few years ago and keep a candle in it all year round. A great look for 4.99! The old iron gate was an auction find while I still lived in Ohio...price? $1.00!

I just love big, chunky holiday decorations, and I am crazy about those great big pine-cones!

I think the log cabin is perfect.
I had a great aunt that actually lived in one very similar. I spent the night there once. Great memory

I have an old yellow lantern top thats just layin' in the garage. What a great idea ~ First warm day I get, I'm gonna grab my can o' white spray paint and go wild. Thanks for the "green" decorating tip.
